What is Enterprise Pay Gateway?
Enterprise Pay Gateway is payment software for growing service and retail businesses. It handles merchant onboarding, hosted checkout, storefronts, recurring billing and reporting on top of Stripe Connect. Card processing itself is provided by Stripe under the merchant's own Stripe agreement.
It is not a bank, a card network or a payment processor. That distinction matters for compliance: the merchant remains the seller of record and holds the Stripe relationship, while Enterprise Pay Gateway supplies the software layer around it.
How much does Enterprise Pay Gateway cost?
Pricing is a monthly subscription plus a platform fee on processed volume: Starter $49.00/month + 0.75%, Growth $99.00/month + 0.60%, Pro $199.00/month + 0.40%, Enterprise $499.00/month + 0.20%–0.35%. Stripe's processing fee is charged separately by Stripe.
What is the difference between a platform fee and a processing fee?
A processing fee is what the payment processor charges to move money across the card networks — commonly around 2.9% + 30¢ for standard US online card payments. A platform fee is what the software vendor charges for the product wrapped around that payment. Enterprise Pay Gateway charges the platform fee; Stripe charges the processing fee directly to the merchant.
How fast do merchants get paid?
Stripe settles funds directly into the merchant's own bank account on its standard payout schedule — commonly two business days after the payment, with a longer hold on brand-new accounts. Enterprise Pay Gateway never takes custody of merchant funds.
How long does it take to start accepting payments?
Most businesses finish Stripe verification in a few minutes and can take a live payment the same day. Accounts that Stripe flags for manual review usually clear within one to three business days, and the outstanding requirements are shown live in the dashboard.
Can a business keep its existing Shopify, Square or WooCommerce store?
Yes. A catalogue can be imported once by CSV, or connected read-only to Shopify, Square or WooCommerce so products stay in sync. Many merchants keep their existing store for retail and use Enterprise Pay Gateway for deposits, packages and memberships that their store cannot handle.
Nothing about the existing store has to be turned off. The two systems can run side by side, and payment links can be embedded anywhere.
Which types of business is it best suited to?
Appointment-led and package-led businesses whose average ticket is high and whose revenue is partly recurring: med spas and aesthetics clinics, veterinary practices, dental practices, boutique fitness studios, physical therapy, child care, home services, auto repair, pet grooming and salons.
Who handles refunds and chargebacks?
The merchant does, because the merchant is the seller of record. Refunds and disputes are managed through Stripe, and Enterprise Pay Gateway records both automatically from verified webhooks so reporting stays accurate.
Is card data ever stored on the merchant's site?
No. Checkout is hosted by Stripe, so card details never reach merchant or platform servers. That keeps the merchant's PCI scope to the lightest self-assessment tier.
Is there a contract or setup fee?
No setup fee and no minimum term on Starter, Growth and Pro. Plans can be changed or cancelled at any time from the billing portal, and Enterprise agreements are negotiated individually.
